yeah, yeah, blame the hippies...

There has been a lot of trees felled and ink spilled lately to produce all the stories regarding Woodstock, which just celebrated its 40th birthday. And while much of the negative news comes from all the predictable places, it's a shame (but not really a surprise) that some of it is coming from what we'll politely call "our side." There are those inside drug policy reform that question whether marijuana festivals, like Hempfest, are good or bad for business. And since Woodstock was the original marijuana festival, we'll discuss the issue tonight inside the Opium Den.

Also, we'll discuss the alarming growth rate of outside marijuana plantations. I say alarming, only because they are often managed by individuals (and cartels) that have little or no respect for the land. Just another environmental mess. Of course, ending all prohibitions against cannabis would virtually solve the problem - so don't expect that solution to be employed anytime soon...
